Mokshada Ekadashi is also commemorated as Geeta Jayanti. This day is the starting tithi when Lord Shri Krishna started to narrate Srimad Vagwat Geeta to Arjuna. So today is the birthday of Bhagwat Geeta, the only book that advocates for righteousness in human life and its sheer practicalities. It was on this day that Sanjaya narrated to King Dhritarashtra the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, and thus made the glorious teachings of the Lord available to us, and to people of the world, for all time. The Gita Jayanti marks one of the greatest days in the history of mankind. Mokshada Ekadashi is an auspicious day dedicated to worship of Vishnu for liberation from sins, and to achieve moksha (liberation) after death.
